The 16th racket of the world, American Serena Williams, in three sets beat Romanian Simona Halep, who occupies the first line of the WTA rating, with a score of 6/1, 4/6, 6/4 in the fourth round of the Australian Open.
The meeting lasted 1 hour 47 minutes. During this time, the 37-year-old Williams completed nine aces, twice made a mistake when serving and sold five break points, and the 27-year-old Halep twice served right through, made two double mistakes and made three breaks.
Earlier in a personal meeting was 8: 2 in favor of the American. Serena’s next opponent in Melbourne is the Czech Karolina Pliskova.
