The former first racket of the world, American Pete Sampras, spoke about his attitude to tennis history.
“Rod is the most modest champion I’ve ever met. At the same time, he is simply a legendary tennis player. I am sure that no one will ever be able to take two calendar Helmets again,” Tennis World quotes Sampras.
Recall that Laver won all four Grand Slam tournaments of the season in 1962 and 1969.
