Canadian Milos Raonic commented on his victory over the German Alexander Zverev in Melbourne.
“I showed an amazing game and I am very proud of it. I almost succeeded on the court. Nevertheless, the match was difficult. I had match points that I would like to play differently. But I did not stop and tried to concentrate on my presentation. I was as focused as possible, and it helped me. I am happy that I could win.
Zverev has excellent hits, he likes to control the game. I tried to give him maximum inconvenience, ”the Australian Open press service quotes Raonic as saying.
Note that Raonic beat his Top 5 rival for the first time since last spring, and in Grand Slam tournaments for the first time since Wimbledon 2016 (then he took over Roger Federer in the semifinals).
