French tennis player Caroline Garcia was unable to overcome the barrier of the third round of the Australian Open, losing in two sets to American Daniel Collins, – 3/6, 2/6.
For 1 hour and 3 minutes of the match, the 19th World No., 25-year-old Caroline, took the opponent’s pitch once, made three aces and one double mistake. Her age-mate Daniel, who occupies the 35th position in the world classification, made four breaks and two aces, having twice made a mistake when serving.
Previously between the athletes have not met. In the 1/8 finals of the tournament, Collins will play either with Australian Kimberly Birrell, or with German Angelique Kerber.
