The 11th racket of the world, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, took the upper hand over the British Katie Boulter, occupying the 97th line of the WTA rating, with a score of 6/3, 6/4 and advanced to the third round of the Australian Open.
The match lasted 1 hour and 13 minutes. During this time, 20-year-old Sabalenka completed seven aces, once made a mistake when serving and sold three break points, and 22-year-old Boulter filed five times, made three double mistakes and made one break.
This was the first official meeting of athletes. Sabalenka’s next rival in Melbourne will be American Amanda Anisimova.
