Swiss tennis player Roger Federer overcame the barrier of the first round of the Australian Open, beating Denis Istomin from Uzbekistan in three sets – 6/3, 6/4, 6/4.
The match lasted 1 hour and 57 minutes. The third racket of the world, 37-year-old Roger, recorded three breaks and 14 aces, making a mistake twice when serving. 32-year-old Istomin, occupying the 101st position in the world classification, made four aces and one double mistake.
The Swiss remains the leader in the personal meetings of the players – 7: 0. In the second round of the tournament, Federer will play against Briton Daniel Evans, who defeated Japanese Tatsuma Ito, – 7/5, 6/1, 7/6 (8).
