Bianca Andreescu was better in Paris on Monday after being hit in Strasbourg, but it wasn’t enough to topple Tamara Zidansek. The Canadian folded after 3 hours and 20 minutes of play, 6-7(1), 7-6(2), 9-7 in the first round of Roland Garros. A defeat that inevitably hurts morale but logical since the world’s 7th ranked player had only played 2 matches on clay before coming to Porte d’Auteuil. Very disappointed, Andreescu recognized that the evening was going to be very complicated but also wanted to remain positive and intends to bounce back very quickly and especially to follow up. That’s all we can wish for the one who seemed to be the best equipped with Naomi Osaka in recent years to dominate women’s tennis.
What. A. Battle. 😮

Bianca Andreescu commented on her defeat in the 1st round of Roland Garros.
Andreescu is far from her optimal shape
I still want to play and fight. I set the highest goals for myself. I want to inspire other people by my example, especially in such difficult times.
Of course, right now I am far from my best form, but I try to make positive experience out of everything. I will learn from my mistakes and move on. Today I’m likely to cry a little, but tomorrow will be a new day.
Most importantly, I feel healthy now. At a certain point I felt tired, but most likely this is a consequence of the psychological burden. I think that today I could not fully control my emotions.
Now it’s time to start preparing for the grass season. I’m registered for tournaments in Berlin and Eastbourne. I hope I can play both and then play Wimbledon.
In the second round of the tournament, Zidansek will face American Madison Brengle, who defeated Colombian Maria Osorio, 7/5, 6/4.
