Spanish Rafael Nadal believes that in the future there should be fewer tournaments on hard surfaces.
“Playing hard on hard is hard on the body. I consider this topic from a purely health perspective. We need to find other coverings for future generations that are safer for the body.
I’m a big fan of hardcore, but we can’t play 75% of the tournaments on it. There are consequences not only during a career, but also after it is over.
I realize that change isn’t going to happen fast. We need to consult with doctors, test different coverings and analyze the results. Tennis has changed significantly, the players are faster and their movements are more aggressive. Now is the time to look for softer surfaces,” Tennis World USA quotes Nadal.
