Czech tennis player Karolina Pliskova reacted to a possible US Open with empty stands.
“Regardless of the conditions of the competition, it’s better to play a few matches than sit and do nothing. Of course, if the fans can come to the stadium, it will be much cooler. On the other hand, there have always been few spectators in the daytime.
Probably, Federer has never played with a small number of fans. However, this has happened to me and many other Tour participants repeatedly. I understand that Roger may have a different opinion, but I will be happy to play in front of empty stands too,” Pliskova was quoted by The Telegraph as saying.
