Croatian tennis player Donna Vekic failed to overcome the barrier of the 1/8 finals Roland Garros, losing to the British Johanna Konta – 2/6, 4/6.
For 1 hour and 24 minutes of the fight, the 24th racket of the world, 22-year-old Donna, took the opponent twice, made one ace and two double mistakes. 28-year-old Johanna, who occupies the 26th place in the world classification, recorded five breaks and seven aces, three times mistaken. Earlier in the personal meetings of athletes the score was equal – 3: 3.
In the quarterfinals of the tournament, Konta faced off with the winner of the game, American Sloane Stephens and Spaniard Garbine Muguruza.
