Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov not long ago won the silver medal at the Olympics and is showing good tennis this season.
All of his successes are due not only to his talent and work in training, but also to the support of his wife. Khachanov’s wife, Veronika Shklyaeva, is an MGIMO graduate who trained at UNESCO. She does not give interviews and spends her free time at tournaments reading books.
“We are flying to Monte Carlo! My wife doesn’t like selfies very much,” wrote Khachanov on Instagram.
“Sometimes, after reading something, Veronica will suggest it to me, too, so we can discuss it later,” Karen said. – I don’t read as fast as she does. They met at the Trigona Club when Khachanov started playing tennis in kindergarten.
“She was playing for general development, but we went to summer camps together, we were friends. At the age of fifteen I started to like her, I started to pay attention to her. Even then I knew that I wanted to see her as his wife.
When Karen was nineteen, arranged a wedding in Barcelona, among close friends. They spent their honeymoon in the same Maldives.
“Each person has his own character and special outlooks on life. I just strove for happiness. My wife is always there, we have a son – everything is going as it should. I don’t like to mix personal and professional, but if this happens, you need to get used to the changes and act “I can call myself a happy person, but sport has nothing to do with it.”-said Karen.
