The 18-year-old Canadian Bianca Andreescu, who won the title in Indian Wells, became the youngest champion of the Premier Mandatory competition for 20 years.
Then the trophy in Indian Wells won the 17-year-old Serena Williams.
At the start of the season, Bianca was not in the Top 150, but now debuts in the Top 25. She also became the first owner of the wild card and the third undeserved tennis player after Serena Williams, Kim Clijsters and Naomi Osaka, who managed to win the competition in Indian Wells.
